United States: A White House official told that President Obama is going to make an announcement about keeping US troops in Afghanistan. He will make this announcement in a joint news conference with his Afghan counterpart later this week.
The USA, which once had more than 100,000 troops in Afghanistan, currently has only 10,000 troops in Afghanistan. President Obama plans to reduce the troops to 5,500 by the end of this year but Afghan President Ghani has urged him to stop the planned withdrawal.
Afghan President Ghani will visit to the White House on Tuesday 26 March. The main agenda of both Afghan-USA Presidents is to revise the schedule for the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
